Pizza dough recipe

Hi everyone!

Today I'm going to share with you an easy recipe for making a homemade gluten-free pizza base . I want to show you the recipe the way I make it. I don't like complicated or confusing recipes, so I'm going to get straight to the point.

I'm going to explain first the ingredients and quantities you need, how to make it, and then some tips and recommendations so that it turns out delicious!

Ingredients for 2 pizza bases

450 g Doves Farm gluten-free plain flour
6 g xanthan gum
330 ml water
20 ml olive oil
7 g salt
7 g dry yeast

Preparation

In a bowl, mix all the dry ingredients. Gradually add the water and then the salt.
When the dough is sticky but smooth (without lumps), cover it with cling film and let it rest in the fridge for a couple of hours.

After this time, take it out, shape it as you like, and mark the edges, leaving them thicker.

Let the pizza bases ferment inside the oven (turned off) at room temperature or about 26°C for 60–70 minutes.

After this time, remove them from the oven and preheat it to 180°C (fan setting).

Bake the bases for 10 minutes, then take them out.

Add your sauces and toppings as desired and put them back in the oven.

Normally they need another 10–15 minutes, but leave them longer if you like them extra crispy.

Once you take them out, let them rest for about 5 minutes and they’ll be ready to enjoy!

Tips

Use lukewarm (not hot) water to help activate the yeast properly.

If the dough is too dry, add a tablespoon of water at a time until it becomes sticky.

If the dough is sticky, you can put oil on your hands to handle it better.

To make it crispier, brush the edges of the crust with a little olive oil before baking.

Tools that you will need

Bowl

Tray and baking paper

Digital scale

Pizza cutter or knife
