Returns and refund policy

As all products are freshly prepared and often custom-made, refunds and exchanges are handled strictly in accordance with this policy and Irish consumer law.

Refunds or replacements are only provided where a problem has occurred directly due to an error by Coral Cakes.

Examples include:

  • Incorrect product supplied

  • Faulty or damaged product due to our handling

  • Order not matching agreed specifications

Customers must contact us within 24 hours of collection or delivery and provide evidence where applicable (photos).

Where appropriate, we will offer:

  • A replacement product or

  • A full or partial refund

The decision to replace or refund remains at the discretion of Coral Cakes.

No Fault – Change of Mind

Under Irish and EU consumer law, custom-made and perishable food products are exempt from the 14-day cooling-off period.

No refunds or exchanges will be issued for:

  • Change of mind

  • Taste preference

  • Event cancellation

  • Customer error

In accordance with:
EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU)
Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act 1980 (Ireland)

Cancellations

If you cancel an order:

  • More than 7 days before collection/delivery
    → Refund may be considered at management discretion

  • Less than 7 days before collection/delivery
    → No refund will be issued

Refunds

Refunds are only issued when:
✔ Fault is confirmed to be caused by Coral Cakes
✔ A replacement is not possible

Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–10 working days.

Exchanges

Exchanges are only offered where:

  • A confirmed error was made by Coral Cakes

Due to food safety laws, returned food cannot be resold.

Allergy Disclaimer

Coral Cakes products are prepared in a kitchen that handles:

  • Gluten free oats

  • Dairy

  • Eggs

  • Nuts

  • Soy

  • Other common allergens

While every effort is made to avoid cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.

Customers are responsible for:

  • Informing us of any allergies before placing an order

  • Ensuring the product is suitable for consumption

Coral Cakes accepts no liability for allergic reactions where allergens were disclosed or cross-contamination may occur.

This is in line with:
EU Food Information for Consumers Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011

What Is Not Covered

We are not responsible for:

  • Damage after collection

  • Incorrect storage

  • Courier delays

  • Incorrect customer information

Legal Rights

This policy does not affect your statutory rights under Irish consumer law, including:

  • Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act 1980

  • Consumer Rights Act 2022

  • EU Consumer Rights Directive
